Grierfield Assembly

The Grierfield Assembly is situated in Moneague, St. Ann, within five minutes drive westerly from the Moneague Police Station and seven minutes driving the same direction from the Moneague Community Centre.

In the year, 1976, Bro. and Sis. Davis (deceased), along with Pastor H. Peart started house-to-house visits in Grierfield. This was followed by open air meetings in the square as well as at other locations. That same year, a plot was loaned to the church by Mr. Young. It was not long after, that they had to quit that spot, but the Lord provided the house of Sis. McCalla (deceased) who had become a member of the Church. A few months later, Mr. Harold McCalla, husband of Sis. McCalla, loaned another spot for a temporary building.

It was only a matter of time, that souls began accepting the message of salvation and the doctrine of the Seventh Day Church of God (Reformed). Subsequently, the first baptism was held on May 28, 1977 when eight (8) souls were immersed. As the quest was on for land to erect a church building, the brethren continued in constant prayers and God provided Mr. Burton Samuels who sold a lot of land to the church. On September 15, 1978 the present spot of ground was dedicated to the Lord.

The construction of the building presented tremendous challenges as the land itself was not the best with which to work, and to make matters worse, there were those who complained to the Building Authorities in the area, who investigated, but could not stop the work from progressing because regulations were being adhered to.

In spite of all these struggles, the building was completed and dedicated on August 14, 1988.

To God be the glory, great things He hath done!!!
